Day Trip to Casablanca
Depart from Marrakech to explore the economic capital of Morocco, Casablanca, at 7:00 AM. Known as the largest port and city in Morocco, it serves as a prominent business destination, often referred to as the “white city” by Portuguese and Spanish sailors.
Stop 1: Hassan II Mosque
Your day can begin with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest religious structure worldwide, which opens its doors to non-Muslims on Fridays.
This magnificent mosque boasts the tallest minaret in the Muslim world, the largest prayer area in Africa, and stands as a true symbol of the city, showcasing a blend of modern techniques with traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, promising an unforgettable experience.
Stop 2: Old Medina
Next, we will continue to the Old Medina, where you’ll encounter the impressive Bab Marrakech gate, situated within the ramparts and recognized as the city’s oldest district, established in the 20th century. Here, you’ll find charming boutique hotels that date back to the protectorate era.
This area offers a delightful glimpse into the daily lives of local residents.
Stop 3: United Nations Square
Another highlight is the United Nations Square, which bridges the past and present. This bustling area serves as a focal point for major thoroughfares, providing access to streetcar stations, souks, luxury hotels, restaurants, cafes, banks, corporate offices, travel agencies, and a visit to the renowned Hyatt Regency bar, famously featured in the film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, perfect for a coffee break.
Stop 4: The Corniche and Morocco Mall
We also recommend visiting the Corniche in Ain Diab, known for its various beaches, swimming pools, cafes, and other popular entertainment venues. Additionally, we will tour the Morocco Mall, which opened in 2011 and is the 20th largest shopping mall in the world and the second largest in Africa.
